Compassion Knows No Bounds: Kuwaiti Donors and Polish Artist Illuminate COMPASS- Ghana’s Mission
Dr Yakubu Salifu
Chief Executive Officer, COMPASS-Ghana
In a world that often seems divided by borders and differences, stories that bridge these gaps and demonstrate the power of human compassion shine as beacons of hope. The tale of the recent support garnered by COMPASS-Ghana, a charity dedicated to enabling palliative care, is a heart-warming reminder that generosity transcends geographical boundaries. Through the benevolent efforts of donors from Kuwait, led by the remarkable Tala Al Dabbous, a dietician specialist, a paediatric palliative care worker, and the artistic contribution of a Polish painter, compassion has reached across continents to light up the lives of those in need.
Tala, a compassionate soul with a heart that knows no limits, rallied a group of Kuwaiti donors to support COMPASS-Ghana’s mission. Her dedication to alleviating suffering and making a tangible difference in the lives of the vulnerable is truly inspiring. Al Dabbous emphasised, “Compassion is a universal language that unites us all. It’s an honour to stand alongside COMPASS-Ghana and contribute to their incredible work in providing palliative care.”
One cannot overlook the creative philanthropy that was injected into this noble cause by a Polish artist Marcin Rogal. Through the sale of his remarkable painting, this artist demonstrated that art has the power to heal not just hearts, but lives. With a generous donation of 4,000 Euros, he exemplified the idea that talents can be harnessed to bring about meaningful change. “Art has the ability to evoke emotions and drive action. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support COMPASS-Ghana through my artwork,” the artist shared.
COMPASS-Ghana’s mission to provide palliative care is not just a medical endeavour, but a testament to the value of human dignity and kindness. The Kuwaiti donors and the Polish artist have shown that compassion knows no distance, and their support will resonate deeply with the people whose lives they have touched. As Tala beautifully summed up, “In a world where we can choose to be anything, let us always choose to be kind.“
This heart-warming convergence of goodwill reminds us all that every act of kindness counts, regardless of where it originates. It is a reminder that the spirit of humanity can reach far and wide, igniting positive change and bringing comfort to those in their most vulnerable moments. Together, they have woven a global tapestry of compassion that wraps around COMPASS-Ghana’s mission, underscoring that even in the face of challenges, love and empathy will always find a way to shine through.
As the CEO of COMPASS-Ghana, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who have illuminated our mission with their compassion. Your generosity has bridged geographical divides and brightened the lives of those in need. We are truly humbled by your dedication to our cause and your belief in our mission to provide palliative care. As we continue on this journey, we humbly solicit for more support from all corners, especially from our fellow Ghanaians in the diaspora. Your contributions, whether big or small, have the power to make a lasting impact. Together, let us uphold the spirit of compassion and extend our reach further, ensuring that the light of empathy and care continues to shine brightly upon those who need it most.
